Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer

Simon is a corporate executive and seasoned accountant with more than eighteen (18) years’ experience     in     corporate     strategy     formulations,     turn-around     strategies,     executive management,  project  management,  auditing,  financial  management,  financial  reporting, treasury management and corporate consultancy fields.

Simon has been exposed to various companies in Southern Africa.

He carries huge exposure and  experience  in  mining,  agriculture,  financial  consultancy  and  auditing,  manufacturing, telecommunication  and  infrastructure  sectors.  Simon  has  also  gained  vast  experience  in local government financial and managerial consultancy in South Africa.   He is a member of Institute of Directors Southern Africa and sits on various Boards of Directors in South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Simon is the Chairman of the Chimutsotso Foundation established under the generosity of Ramangwana Investments Group with a vision to empower people and transform Africa.

Kobus is highly experienced in evaluating the technical, marketing, and financial feasibility of new products and processes and new business ventures. His experience covers a wide range of projects and included feasibility assessments, identification of partners and packaging of investment projects for investors, project developers, entrepreneurs, government departments and financiers.

He has wide experience in sector industry and value chain studies various industry sectors such as the food, beverage, and agriculture sectors, power generation and distribution, renewable energy industry, plastic, and steel industries, and vehicle (automotive) industries in South Africa. He has identified business opportunities in the energy and power sector in South Africa for multinational investors and companies, such as Toshiba and Absa Capital and has also identified renewable energy projects in South Africa and cogeneration projects involving industry, mining, and forestry. He has participated in the feasibility study of three agriculture and agri-processing special economic zones in different provinces in South Africa.

He has also consulted for local and international investors on market and techno-economic assessments of businesses in the telecommunications, electronics, plastic, petrochemical, rubber-recycling, agrochemical, explosives, construction, steel and foundry, agriculture, food processing, water, waste and effluent treatment (incl. acid mine water), and mining (special minerals) industries in South Africa. He is also competent in financial modelling and forecasting and has particular expertise in the financial structuring of big project finance.

Hugh Vera

Chief Operations Officer

Hugh Vera is currently the Chief Operations Officer for DFA Zimbabwe and holds the following qualifications: MCSDA, MCSSE, CCNA, CompTIA Networks, City & Guilds ICT Systems, MSc Computer Science, WR level 2 CC.

He is an experienced professional with over 15 years of a successful career in ICT, Telecommunications, Business development, and Administration both in the Public, NGO`s and Private Sector. Hugh is a team player who cares about people and enjoys working with people in a multicultural organization, a strategic thinker opened to new perspectives and better ways to do things.

Hugh has held senior management roles in various companies in Zimbabwe and the region. He served as a Systems Technical Support Manager at Multichoice Zimbabwe, Information System Specialist for Saltrama Plastics (Ltd), ICT Coordinator at the Centre for Rural Development Zimbabwe (Kellogg Foundation) and Elizabeth Glaser Paediatric AIDS Foundation. He also served as the Regional Systems Manager for Regional SADC Database and Analytical Project, SADC Multi-donor Rural Development Hub, Regional SADC Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy and the Regional SADC Food Security Training Project.

Tongai Tanhara

Tongai Tanhara holds a BBA Marketing Management degree from Solusi University and various technology and leadership professional qualifications through the University of Zimbabwe. He is a seasoned Commercial and Business Development professional with over 15 years of experience.

Tongai employs a defined techno-commercial approach to investigating and solving customer needs and has a keen interest in helping businesses to Digitally Transform themselves.

Tongai has held senior management roles in various Telecommunication companies in Zimbabwe and the region. Tongai served as a Key Account Manager at Africom (Pvt.) Ltd, Acting Sales Manager for iWayAfrica/Africa Online Zimbabwe and most recently served as Head of Sales for Dandemutande Investments (Pvt.) Ltd. He joined DFA Zimbabwe in 2019 as its first Sales and Marketing Head and was part of the team that achieved 7x growth of DFA Zimbabwe over just 3years. Tongai was elevated to Chief Commercial Officer of DFA Zimbabwe a position he currently holds.

Jacqueline Gandidzanwa

Head Of Human Capital

Jacqueline Gandidzanwa holds a BA Communications and an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Fort-hare in South Africa. She is a full member of the Institute of Personal Management with a Diploma in Personal Management.  Jacqueline has more than 20yrs in Human Capital Management.

 

She has held Senior Management and Executive roles in the Tourism Industry, Pharmaceutical Industry, Transport Sector and nearly 10 years in the Telecommunications sector. She is currently the Head of Human Capital Department at DFA Zimbabwe.
